OUR MISSION & GOALS

The Washington Science Teachers Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating and promoting quality science education at all levels of instruction. Our goals include: 

1. Promoting culturally responsive practices for underrepresented groups, including racial and ethnic identities. 

2. Promoting professional knowledge and growth. 

3. Maintaining an ongoing communication network for science educators.

4. Exploring and supporting curriculum development.

5. Recognizing and rewarding excellence.

6. Creating public awareness of the importance of quality science education.

7. Forming an organized voice on pertinent legislative policies and issues.


WSTA SUPPORTS THE NGSS

The WSTA fully supports all efforts to adopt the NGSS & align all curricula and lessons to A Framework for Science Education. 

Washington State is a leader in NGSS implementation and development of aligned resources. See the OSPI Science Standards site for more information.
