WSTA Presents: Bite-Size Science Professional Development

Project-Based Learning in Science

Clock Hours Available

 May 23, 2024, 4:00 – 5:00 pm, In Zoom

 Project-based Learning in Science

Join our WSTA Recording Secretary, Ayla Wilk, as she   discusses the philosophical and pedagogical tenants of project-   based learning. You will also have time to explore resources and brainstorm project ideas for your classroom!

Do you wish you could engage your students in real-world science that has a local community impact? Are you curious about project-based learning but don’t know where to start?

PBLWorks and Educurious have tools to help you get started! Join Ayla Wilk for a quick introduction to the “Gold Standard” project design elements and teaching practices, followed by an opportunity to explore the teacher supports and project ideas on their respective websites.

Ayla has been using these strategies and curriculum resources in her own AP Environmental Science classroom with great success!

Register at the Washington State Science Teachers (WSTA) website under Event Calendar or at the following link:

https://wsta.wildapricot.org/EventCalendar

After you register, you will be sent a Zoom link to attend. To obtain clock hour information or questions, contact Don Pruett, WSTA Professional Development Coordinator at: puyalluppruett@gmail.com.
